I’ve had Disqus installed since day one on this blog. No spam whatsoever in Disqus. Lovely and Quiet. To my surprise, comments posted via bots and scripts kept on coming in.

Last week Jesper Åström had his WordPress website infected by the adsttnmq1 hosting provider exploit. It’s similar to the gumblar exploit and takes advantage of holes in the hosting provider’s management platform – such as cPanel or H-Sphere. I’d say that if this affects you at your hosting provider, change host as soon as you can.

During my tinkering with the template for The Beta Blog, I ran into a whole load of problems with trying to get the green CTA “Continue reading” links working.
As soon as I styled the links with a coloured background I could see two blocks of green. One being the link, the other being a little square of green directly at the end of the last paragraph of text.

It’s been a couple of years since I’ve had a really good, serious, play with WordPress. Beantin.se runs on Tumblr and projects i’ve been involved with have used enterprise WCMS, Joomla or a little WCMS called webCreator.
So, the beta blog gave me the idea chance to evaluate WP3 and at the same time give me a platform to experiment on the next time a WP project comes along.
